About

The Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute at the University of Wollongong is proud to host the
3rd Proteostasis and Disease Symposium.

Proteostasis encompasses all those processes that act to maintain the correct levels and function of proteins in living systems.

We had a very enthusiastic response to the two previous Symposia. In 2017 we will offer a fresh and cutting-edge program, featuring national and international researchers at the forefront of this field.

The Symposium will be held at the Novotel Northbeach in the beach-side city of Wollongong, located about 80 km south of Sydney, Australia.

Topics

The Symposium will cover all areas of proteostasis, including:

  • Protein biogenesis
  • Protein trafficking
  • Protein folding, misfolding and aggregation
  • Stress response and chaperones
  • Protein degradation pathways
  • Systems level proteostasis
