The Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute at the University of Wollongong proudly hosted the
3rd Proteostasis and Disease Symposium.

Proteostasis encompasses all those processes that act to maintain the correct levels and function of proteins in living systems.

The Symposium was held at the Novotel Northbeach in the beach-side city of Wollongong, located about 80 km south of Sydney, Australia.

The Symposium covered all areas of proteostasis, including:

  • Protein biogenesis
  • Protein trafficking
  • Protein folding, misfolding and aggregation
  • Stress response and chaperones
  • Protein degradation pathways
  • Systems level proteostasis
